BlockAvenue is a platform to help people better understand location by leveraging existing geo-data and social networks to create trust.
From local facts and trends to new happenings, we combine geo-data and informed opinions from neighbors who know the area best. BlockAvenue is an easy way to find, review and talk about what’s great – and not so great – in your ‘hood.
Neighborhoods change block by block
By aggregating basic underlying data like: crime, transit options, demographic information, local amenities and restaurants, school data and social activity we can give you a good sense of what is going on in the area. But by combining this information with real local reviews from people who actually live or frequent the location allows us to show you an entirely new dimension.
BlockAvenue is a location-based analytics company focused on providing consumers an intuitive platform to help better understand everything there is to know about a location. The company leverages more than 50 million data points such as crime, sex offenders, transit options, local amenities, restaurants, schools and a proprietary social layer to provide its BlockScore across the United States. The company is headquartered out of the PayPal Start Tank in downtown Boston. We are grateful for all of the help from our peers at PayPal and and without exception special thanks to David Chang, Dan Gilmartin and Joshua Summer from the PayPal / Where team who have given us the opportunity to join this special fraternity of technology startups.
